Barefoot at the 2012 World Endurance Champs

Laura Seegers is the founder and owner of Perseverance Arabian & Endurance Horses.
Laura has been competing in endurance for over 25 years, with 9000km under her belt, and her Springbok colours. She and her husband Francois Seegers are pioneers in barefoot endurance in Southern Africa. Laura rode one of the stud’s top horses, PSV Jedi, for the SA national team at the 2011 South African International Challenge (Tri-Nations) in Limpopo and placed 8th. They were then chosen for the ERASA national team at Fauresmith and placed 5th.
PSV Jedi was the first barefoot horse to be selected to ride for this country. Now PSV Mauser is joining him in this very select group!
Laura and PSV Mauser have been chosen to ride for South Africa at the FEI World Endurance Championships at Euston Park in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2012.
PERSEVERANCE horses have special Arabian bloodlines, they have functionally beautiful bodies, and they do endurance barefoot.
At Perseverance we use South African Old English Bloodlines to preserve a precious genetic heirloom. We breed horses for endurance and pleasure, some of which are for sale. We also lease out horses for endurance rides, including all registration and transport costs. At Broederstroom, the farm where the stud is based, we offer working riding holidays, which includes the chance to ride competitively for Team PSV. We also do farm stay holidays for families and individuals.
For the more experienced rider, we offer intensive training for long distance endurance challenges such as the Mongol Derby. For anyone interested in natural horsemanship, we run a regular Essential Barefoot Course, as well as endurance courses.
